True Beauty
Wearing a fierce mask
India will get in da ya
I just got back from 2 months of backpacking in India.
It was indescribable.
The sights… the insight… It was perfectly difficult.
Everyday I feel grateful.
This trip OPENED MY EYES… and I think you will be able to see that in my images.
I have about 900 hours left of going through images and editing but am anxious to share my images so I will post a couple and there will be many more images to follow.

She sees through Bahamian eyes.
Everyone sees through their own eyes with their own unique perspective.
Determined by where they are from, past experiences, things they have endured, seen, been a part of, culture, upbringing, family, society, things that make them uniquely them. We have to learn to appreciate everyones perspective… even the ones we don’t understand. Then we can truly learn from one another.

Hiding from Time
Runaway
I hear people say this one line all the time, it’s even been directed at me before…
” YOU CAN’T RUN AWAY FROM YOUR PROBLEMS”
Well you know what, I think you can.
Because running away, usually implies running towards something else.
The fact is you are running into another experience, running into new lessons, new insights, sometimes even new perspectives on the “things” you were “running away from” to begin with.
And all those sound amazing… so…. why not run away? Worst it can do is give you a new perspective.

Pressure on Women
I took a few different images from other series i’ve done and kind of created a new one. It’s called. “Pressure on Women” As a woman myself, the pressure put on us is CRAZY making. There is a lot of pressure on men too, and i’ve attempted some shots portraying that as well, but I am a woman and conceptually speaking way more comes to my mind in that direction. The reason these pressures are associated with death in these pieces, is because I wanted to show that, you will die before you achieve “perfection” as a woman. That is, if perfection to you is defined by others. If you are looking for perfection in your looks, or your supposed “role” as are taught by the media….You might as well die, because it isn’t real. They want us to look to them for the answers, but the answers are in each on of us. Perfection is already in each of us from the beginning. Look Inward, not Outward.

Watch it… It will inspire you too! I’m sure of it.
Our bodies our beautiful things. Let’s prove what they are capable of.
At the start of my path.
This 4 by 5 film camera definitely helped with my deeper understanding of the photography process, but I would never go back! haha
This picture not only reminds me of the camera… but even where my mind was at in photography,
it’s become such a deeper thing to me now.
Back then it was about creating a beautiful picture, now it’s about expressing ideas.

Sketched unplugged
I sketched this image with a strong idea in mind. After executing it however people took it many different ways. I love that, I love different interpretations of my work. It is so fun for me to hear. My original intention was just to show being unplugged from the business of life. To take a second, without the noise, without the movement, just be still, in silence with yourself. Sometimes if i’m going through something hard, I just unplug from everything else in life and listen to my inner voice.
Try it.

Mantra
My own “mantra” lately has been not a sentence but one word.
know.
I put the word on a image of mine and set it as my background… Since I edit all day long, I thought it was a cool way to remind me to stop, breath, and focus on “knowing”.
Without getting into it too much, “knowing” to me is pretty much the same as faith. I believe you do create your own reality and you can attract things you want (sometimes unconsciously need). But I do think you have to “KNOW”. Have faith in yourself.
Here is the background I use.. you should make your own with your own word/sentence or use mine if you’d like.

Matt Barnes BLOG kicks ass!
I’ve followed this guy’s work for a while and it’s obviously SICK!! If you haven’t seen it, check it out here www.thatsthespot.com. What inspires me most is his BLOG… the pictures are so good but what I REALLY love are the videos. I love that they are uncensored because let’s face it… censored art SUCKS. Dicks, boobs, weed, blow it’s all there. These videos make it look FUN. Don’t get me wrong, I can tell they work their asses off but I watch videos of behind the scenes photo shoots all the time and it’s always missing the element of FUN. For someone just starting out in the industry and someone who loves photography as a fine art… this renews my interest in commercial photography and gives me some INSPIRATION and HOPE!
THANK YOU!!!!
